LIVE PIGEONS (PROHIBITION OF EXPORT) ORDER, 1971.

I, JAMES GIBBONS, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in order to prevent the spreading of fowl pest through pigeon racing from outside the State and in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Live Pigeons (Prohibition of Export) Order, 1971.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 19th day of April, 1971.

3. The exportation of live pigeons except to Northern Ireland is hereby prohibited save under and in accordance with a licence granted in that behalf by the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order prohibits, except under licence, the exportation of live pigeons to places other than Northern Ireland.
