ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMITS) (COUNTY OF LOUTH) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1971.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 45 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 46 of the said Act as amended by section 25 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968) hereby makes the following Regulations—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Louth) (Amendment) Regulations, 1971.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 15th day of March, 1971.

3. The Second Schedule to the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Louth) Regulations, 1968 ( S.I. No. 16 of 1968 ) is hereby amended as follows—

(i) by the substitution for the matter at reference 1 of the following

"(a) The Crescent, Sandy Lane.

(b) The Dundalk–Green Gates road between a point 60 yards north of its junction with the Crescent and a point 270 yards east of its junction with the Dublin–Dundalk road.

(c) The Back Road between its junction with the Dundalk–Green Gates road and a point 20 yards south–west of its junction with Sandy Lane."

(ii) by the addition of the following reference

"9. The following roads at Clogherhead:—

(a) The Termonfeckin–Grangebellew road between a point 230 yards south–west of its junction with the Callystown Road and a point 980 yards north–west of its junction with Harbour Road.

(b) The Harbour Road between its junction with the Termonfeckin–Grangebellew road and a point 10 yards east of its junction with Barrackfield Cottages Road.

(c) The Callystown Road for a distance of 15 yards from its junction with the Termonfeckin–Grangebellew road.

(d) Crooked Street, Barrackfield Cottages Road."

4. The Third Schedule to the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Louth) Regulations, 1968 is hereby amended as follows—

(i) by the substitution of the following for the matter at reference 5 (d)

"The Castleblayney Road between a point 300 yards north–west of the urban district boundary and a point 100 yards north–west of its junction with the Bellews Bridge Road."

(ii) by the addition of the following reference

"9. The following road at Mount Bagnal—

The Dundalk–Greenore road between a point 400 yards west of its junction with the Gyles Quay Road and a point 635 yards east of that junction."

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Louth) Regulations, 1968, and alter the speed limits applicable to certain roads in County Louth.
