FOREIGN POST AMENDMENT (NO. 12), WARRANT, 1971.

I, GERARD COLLINS, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 , 3 and 6 of the Post Office (Amendment) Act, 1969 , (No. 18 of 1969), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows:—

1. (1) This Warrant may be cited as the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 12) Warrant, 1971.

(2) This Warrant shall come into operation on the 15th day of February, 1971.

2. In this Warrant "the Principal Warrant" means the Foreign Post Warrant, 1949 ( S.I. No. 267 of 1949 ).

3. Regulation 21 of the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for "three pence" (inserted by Regulation 8 (d)(ii) of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 8) Warrant, 1965 ( S.I. No. 253 of 1965 )) of "one new penny".

4. The First Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 3 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 11) Warrant, 1970 ( S.I. No. 205 of 1970 )) of the entries in the First Schedule to this Warrant.

5. The Second Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 5 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 9) Warrant, 1968 ( S.I. No. 263 of 1968 ), and Regulation 4 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 11) Warrant, 1970) of the entries in the Second Schedule to this Warrant.

6. The Third Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 6 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 9) Warrant, 1968) of the entries in the Third Schedule in this Warrant.

7. The Fourth Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 5 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 11) Warrant, 1970) of the entries in the Fourth Schedule to this Warrant.

8. Regulation 5(1) of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 4) Warrant, 1956 ( S.I. No. 148 of 1956 ), is hereby amended by the substitution for "2s. 0d." (inserted by Regulation 6 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 11) Warrant, 1970) of "8p".

9. Regulation 5 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 5) Warrant, 1957 ( S.I. No. 58 of 1957 ), is hereby amended—

(a) by the substitution for "6d." (inserted by Regulation 7 of the Foreign Post Amendment (No. 11) Warrant, 1970) in both places where it occurs of "2½p", and

(b) by the substitution for "3d." (inserted by the said Regulation 7 of the said Foreign Post Amendment (No. 11) Warrant, 1970) of "1p".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Warrant applies to the Foreign Post service and comes into operation on the 15th February, 1971. It authorises the decimal currency equivalents of the rates of postage for letters, postcards, printed packets (reduced rate and bulk posting rate), sample packets, small packets and of the fees for the registration and insurance services and other miscellaneous services.
