ROAD TRAFFIC (PUBLIC SERVICE VEHICLES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1970.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 82 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations, 1970.

(2) These Regulations and the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Regulations, 1963 to 1968, shall be construed together and may be cited as the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Regulations, 1963 to 1970.

2. Notwithstanding anything contained in the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Regulations, 1963 to 1968, an application for the grant of a public service vehicle licence in respect of the use of a vehicle as a public hire vehicle or as a private hire vehicle or of a licence to drive small public service vehicles by a person who is not the holder of such a valid and subsisting licence may be made only from the first to the fourteenth day inclusive of March, June, September or December in any year.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations provide that an application for a small public service vehicle licence or a licence to drive such vehicle by a person who is not the holder of a valid subsisting licence may be made only from the first to the fourteenth day inclusive of March, June, September or December in any year.
