DISTRICT COURT AREAS (VARIATION OF DAYS AND HOURS) (No. 2) ORDER, 1970.

I, DESMOND O'MALLEY, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 26 (1) (f) of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) (No. 2) Order, 1970.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of July, 1970.

2. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).

3. The hour for holding the District Court in the district court area of Cootehill shall, in lieu of the hour specified in column (4) at reference number 11 in the First and Second Schedules to the Principal Order, be 11.00 a.m.

4. The day and hour for holding the District Court in the district court area of Virginia shall, in lieu of the day and hour specified in column (4) at reference number 14 in the First and Second Schedules to the Principal Order, be the first Monday in each month at 11.00 a.m.

5. The days and hours for holding the District Court in the district court area of Monaghan shall, in lieu of the days and hours specified in column (4) at reference number 200 in the First Schedule and in column (4) at reference number 170 in the Second Schedule to the Principal Order, be the first Wednesday and the second and fourth Tuesday in each month at 11.00 a.m.

6. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated and is not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order alters the existing provisions with regard to the days for holding sittings of the District Court in Monaghan and Virginia and the commencement time of sittings of the District Court in Cootehill.
