LOCAL GOVERNMENT (RATES) (WAIVER) REGULATIONS, 1970.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Local Government (Rates) Act, 1970 , (No. 2 of 1970) hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government (Rates) (Waiver) Regulations, 1970.

2. (1) The making or amending of a scheme under section 2 of the Local Government (Rates) Act, 1970 , shall require the consent of the Minister for Local Government.

(2) The consent of the Minister under subarticle (1) of this article may be given in respect of the making or amendment of a particular scheme or may be given generally by the Minister in respect of the making or amendment of schemes under the said section.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations provide that the making or amendment of a scheme for the waiver of rates under Section 2 of the Local Government (Rates) Act, 1970 , shall require the consent of the Minister for Local Government.
