EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1952 to 1968, include provision for the payment of special rate employers' contributions in respect of persons employed on foreign-going ships or ships engaged in regular trade on foreign stations. The occupational injuries insurance portion of the weekly contribution for such persons will, as a result of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1969 , be increased by 1d as from 5 January 1970. The occupational injuries contributions are paid into the Social Insurance Fund in the first instance and subsequently transferred to the Occupational Injuries Fund.

These Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1952 to 1968, so as to provide for the transfer of the new contributions from the Social Insurance Fund to the Occupational Injuries Fund.
