LEGAL TENDER NOTE FUND (ADDITIONAL FORM OF ASSET) ORDER, 1969.

I, CHARLES J. HAUGHEY, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on my by section 3 of the Currency (Amendment) Act, 1930 (No. 30 of 1930), as amended by section 64 of the Central Bank Act, 1942 (No. 22 of 1942), and adapted by section 11 (1) of that Act, at the unanimous request of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Ireland, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Legal Tender Note Fund (Additional Form of Asset) Order, 1969.

2. The asset specified in the Schedule to this Order is hereby added to the list of forms of assets, contained in section 61 (3) of the Currency Act, 1927 (No. 32 of 1927), as amended by section 2 of the Currency (Amendment) Act, 1930 (No. 30 of 1930), in which the legal tender note fund may be held.

SCHEDULE.

Reserve with International Monetary Fund (being the asset vested in the Central Bank of Ireland by section 5 (1) of the Bretton Woods Agreements (Amendment) Act, 1969 (No. 10 of 1969) ).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The order adds the item " Reserve with International Monetary Fund " to the list of forms of assets in which the legal tender note fund may be held by the Central Bank of Ireland. The reserve consists of the portion of Ireland's subscription to the Fund paid in gold and currency.
