CENSORSHIP OF FILMS (FEES) ORDER, 1969.

I, MICHEÁL Ó MORÁIN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 11 and 12 of the Censorship of Films Act, 1923 (No. 23 of 1923), and with the sanction of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows :—

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Censorship of Films (Fees) Order, 1969.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of May, 1969.

2. (1) Subject to paragraph (2) of this Article, the fees to be charged under section 11 (1) of the Censorship of Films Act, 1923 (No. 23 of 1923) (in this Order referred to as the Act) shall be the fees set out in the Schedule to this Order.

(2) No fee shall be charged in respect of a film which, in the opinion of the Official Censor, is of an educational nature.

3. The Censorship of Films Act, 1923 (Fees) Order, 1955 ( S.I. No. 4 of 1955 ), the Censorship of Films Act, 1923 (Amendment of Fees) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 115 of 1959 ), and the Censorship of Films Act, 1923 (Amendment of Fees) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 218 of 1961 ), are hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE

1. (1) Subject to sub-paragraph (2) of this paragraph, the fee in respect of an application to the Official Censor for a certificate under The act shall be—

(a) in the case of a film which, in the opinion of the Official Censor, is in any of the following categories, namely, " topical ", " travel ", or " interest "—one farthing per foot of film, and

(b) in the case of any other film (not being in the opinion of the Official Censor, of an educational nature)—one penny per foot of film.

(2) Where a fee calculated under this paragraph includes a fraction of a shilling, the fraction shall not be charged in case it is less than sixpence, and in case it is sixpence or more the fee shall be rounded off to the next shilling.

2. The fee in respect of a copy of reasons furnished by the Official Censor under section 8 (2) of The act shall be five shillings.
