LIFE ANNUITY (SALE OF LAND TO LAND COMMISSION) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1969.

I, PÁDRAIG FAULKNER, Minister for Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 6 (5) of the Land Act, 1965 , (No. 2 of 1965), hereby make the following Regulations:—

1 Title.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Life Annuity (Sale of Land to Land Commission) (Amendment) Regulations, 1969.

2 Supplementary allowance in the case of incapacitated vendors.

2. The Life Annuity (Sale of Land to Land Commission) Regulations, 1967 ( S.I. No. 27 of 1967 ), are hereby amended by the substitution of the following Article for Article 6:

" 6. An incapacitated vendor who is granted a life annuity may, at the discretion of the Land Commission, be paid, until such time as he reaches 70 years of age or shall have been awarded a pension as a blind person under the Old Age Pensions Acts, 1908 to 1968, a supplementary allowance within such limits as may from time to time be authorised by the Minister for Finance."

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purpose of these Regulations is to permit a variation from time to time in the amount of the supplementary allowance payable, at the discretion of the Land Commission, to an incapacitated vendor who has been granted a Life Annuity in accordance with Section 6 of the Land Act, 1965 . In the case of an annuitant who is heretofore in receipt of a supplementary allowance in accordance with existing Regulations, the amount of such allowance henceforth will not be less than that already agreed on the sale of the lands to the Land Commission.
