ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMITS) (COUNTY BOROUGH OF LIMERICK AND COUNTY OF LIMERICK) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1969. | ||
The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 , 45 and 46 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961), amended as regards the said section 46 by section 25 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968) hereby makes the following Regulations : — 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Limerick and County of Limerick) (Amendment) Regulations, 1969. | ||
(2) The Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Limerick and County of Limerick) Regulations, 1966 ( S.I. No. 80 of 1966 ) and these Regulations shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Limerick and County of Limerick) Regulations, 1966 and 1969. 2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of March, 1969. 3. In these Regulations— | ||
" Principal Regulations " means the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Limerick and County of Limerick) Regulations, 1966; | ||
" perimeter road " means a road on and along the roadway of which there runs the boundary of a county or other borough, an urban district or a town. 4. (1) The First Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended in the manner specified in Schedule A to these Regulations. | ||
(2) The Second Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended in the manner specified in Schedule B to these Regulations. | ||
(3) The Third Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended in the manner specified in Schedule C to these Regulations. | ||

SCHEDULE A. | ||
Amendments to the First Schedule to the Principal Regulations. | ||
1. The road described at reference 1 (i) shall be deleted. | ||
2. There shall be substituted at reference 2 (b) " 1070 " for " 1100 " | ||

SCHEDULE B. | ||
Amendments to the Second Schedule to the Principal Regulations. | ||
1. There shall be substituted— | ||
(a) at reference 1 (e) " 500 " for " 200 "; | ||
(b) at reference 5 (b) " The Limerick-Doon road between a point 90 yards north-west of its junction with the Eyon Road and a point 150 yards south-east of its junction with the Farnane-franklin Road. " for the matter at the said reference; | ||
(c) at reference 7 (c) " 305 " for " 270 ". | ||
2. There shall be added— | ||
(a) at reference 5 | ||
" (f) the Eyon Road for a distance of 50 yards from its junction with the Limerick-Doon road. | ||
(g) The road from the Limerick-Doon road to the Sportsfield."; | ||
(b) the following additional reference— | ||
" 14. The following roads adjacent to the County Borough of Limerick :— | ||
(a) The Moylish Road, The Clonmacken Road. | ||
(b) The Roxborough Road where the said road is a perimeter road." | ||

SCHEDULE C. | ||
Amendments to the Third Schedule to the Principal Regulations. | ||
1. There shall be substituted— | ||
(a) at reference 1 | ||
" The following roads at Abbeyfeale | ||
(a) The Mount Mahon Housing Scheme Road. | ||
(b) The Limerick Road between a point 650 yards east of its junction with Chapel Street and a point 1,450 yards east of the said junction."; | ||
for the matter at the said reference; | ||
(b) at reference 2 (b) " 370 " for " 400 "; | ||
(c) at reference 4 (a) " 730 " for " 700 "; | ||
(d) at reference 8 (a) " The Limerick-Ennis road between a point 65 yards north-west of its junction with Rose Avenue and a point 600 yards north-west of its junction with the Moylish Road." | ||
for the matter at the said reference. | ||
2. There shall be added— | ||
(a) at reference 8 | ||
" (h) The Mungret Road for a distance of 350 yards from its junction with the Ballinacurra Road."; | ||
(b) the following additional references— | ||
" 12. The following road at Kilbeheny : — | ||
The Dublin-Cork road between a point 120 yards north-east of its junction with the Kilglass Road and the south-western abutment of Kilbeheny Bridge. | ||
13. The following road at Kildimo : — | ||
The Limerick-Askeaton road between a point 150 yards west of its junction with the Old Kildimo Road and a point 320 yards east of the said junction. | ||
14. The following road at Pallas Grean (New) : — | ||
The Limerick-Oola road between a point 380 yards north-west of its junction with the Nicker Road and a point 100 yards south-east of the said junction." | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Limerick and County of Limerick) Regulations, 1966, in their application to the County Borough of Limerick and the County of Limerick and alter the speed limits applicable to certain roads in these areas. |
