DISTRICT COURT AREAS (VARIATION OF DAYS AND HOURS) ORDER, 1969.

I, MICHEAL O MORAIN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 26 (1) (f) of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) Order, 1969.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1969.

3. The District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ), shall have effect as if—

(i) the following definition were inserted at the end of Article 2 (1)—

" ' a holiday period ' means any of the following periods—

(a) the month of August,

(b) the period of six consecutive days commencing on the Thursday before Easter Day,

(c) the period of nine consecutive days commencing on the 23rd day of December.",

and

(ii) the following were inserted at the end of Articles 4 (1) (b) and 5 (1) (b)—

" provided, however, that during a holiday period no sitting of the District Court shall be held in a district court area, the name whereof is mentioned in column (3) of the said Schedule."
