MERCHANT SHIPPING (RECOGNITION OF MISCELLANEOUS FOREIGN CERTIFICATES OF COMPETENCY) ORDER, 1957 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1968.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 7 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1947 (No. 46 of 1947), hereby make the following order :

1. This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Recognition of Miscellaneous Foreign Certificates of Competency) Order, 1957 (Amendment) Order, 1968.

2. The Merchant Shipping (Recognition of Miscellaneous Foreign Certificates of Competency) Order, 1957 ( S.I. No. 223 of 1957 ), shall be construed and have effect as if the reference to South Africa in the recitals thereto were deleted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order withdraws the recognition which was given in 1957, on a reciprocal basis, to certain types of seamen's certificates of competency issued by South Africa.
