SOCIAL WELFARE (MODIFICATIONS OF INSURANCE) (AMENDMENT) (No. 2) REGULATIONS, 1967.

I, JOSEPH BRENNAN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952) and by section 12 of the said Act as amended by section 7 of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1967 (No. 18 of 1967) hereby make the following Regulations with the sanction of the Minister for Finance:—

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1967.

(2) These Regulations shall be included in the expression "the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1956 to 1967."

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 31st day of July, 1967.

3. The Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1956, shall be amended by the insertion in sub-article (1) of Article 5 after sub-paragraph (e) of the following sub-paragraph:—

"(ee) pensionable employment as a teacher in a comprehensive school established by the Minister for Education;"

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1956 ( S.I. No. 236 of 1956 ) so as to provide for the application as from 31st July, 1967, of the reduced rates of employment contributions giving title to widows' (contributory) pension and orphans' (contributory) allowance to persons in pensionable employment as teachers in comprehensive schools established by the Minister for Education.
