PENSIONS (INCREASE) REGULATIONS, 1967.

I, CHARLES J. HAUGHEY, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 29 of the Pensions (Increase) Act, 1964 (No. 10 of 1964), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These regulations may be cited as the Pensions (Increase) Regulations, 1967.

2. For the purposes of these regulations and subsequent regulations under section 29 of the Pensions (Increase) Act, 1964 (No. 10 of 1964) the following paragraphs are hereby added to Part I of the Schedule to that Act—

"(t) A pension payable under the Military Service Pensions Acts, 1924 to 1964.

(u) A service pension payable under the Connaught Rangers (Pensions) Acts, 1936 to 1964.

(v) A disability pension payable under the Connaught Rangers (Pensions) Acts, 1936 to 1964.

(w) A pension payable under the MacSwiney (Pension) Acts, 1950 to 1964."

3. (1) A pension to which this paragraph applies shall be increased by five per cent. with effect from the 1st day of October, 1964.

(2) A pension as so increased under subparagraph (1) shall be further increased by nine per cent. with effect from the 1st day of August, 1965.

(3) This paragraph applies to the persons mentioned in paragraphs (t), (u), (v) and (w) (inserted by paragraph 1 of these regulations) of the Schedule to the Pensions (Increase) Act, 1964 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations provide for the addition to the Schedule to the Pensions (Increase) Act, 1964 , of the pensions mentioned in Paragraph 1 of these Regulations and also for an increase of 5% as from 1st October, 1964, in these pensions and a further increase of 9% as from 1st August, 1965, in the pensions as so increased.
