APPRENTICESHIP ACT (DESIGNATED TRADE) (PRINTING TRADE) (No. 2) ORDER, 1966.

An Cheard-Chomhairle in exercise of the powers conferred on it by subsection (1) of section 21 of the Apprenticeship Act, 1959 (No. 39 of 1959), hereby orders as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Apprenticeship Act (Designated Trade) (Printing Trade) (No. 2) Order, 1966.

2. For the purposes of this Order, the Printing Trade shall comprise all or any of the following matters, that is to say, the composing and processing of type matter for reproduction or duplication, and printing therefrom; graphic reproduction; processes involved in the manufacture of printing plates and surfaces for reproduction or duplication, and printing therefrom, manufacturing books from printed and unprinted paper.

3. The Printing Trade is hereby declared to be a designated trade for the purposes of the Apprenticeship Act, 1959 (No. 39 of 1959), throughout the State.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of this Order is to bring the arrangements for the recruitment and training of apprentices in the skilled trades in the Printing Industry under statutory control throughout the State.
