IMPORTATION OF MEAT AND ANIMAL PRODUCTS (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1966.

I, CHARLES J. HAUGHEY, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 22 and 49 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1894, and section 4 of the Agriculture Act, 1931 (No. 8 of 1931), as adapted by the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 146 of 1965 ), hereby order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Importation of Meat and Animal Products (Amendment) Order, 1966.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The Importation of Meat and Animal Products Order, 1963 ( S.I. No. 186 of 1963 ), shall have effect as if Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Federal Republic of Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland were not included in the countries mentioned in the First Schedule thereto.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of this Order is to prohibit the importation from the countries named therein of meat and products containing meat which were hitherto permitted under the Importation of Meat and Animal Products Order, 1963.
