DISTRICT COURT DISTRICTS AND AREAS (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1965.

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the power conferred on me by paragraphs (a), (c), (d) and (f) of subsection (1) of section 26 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby order as follows :

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the District Court Districts and Areas (Amendment) Order, 1965.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of February, 1966.

2. In this Order " the Principal Order " means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).

3.—(1) The District Court Area of Dromahair, mentioned at reference number 142 in the First Schedule and at reference number 126 in the Second Schedule to the Principal Order, is hereby abolished and in lieu thereof a new district court area is hereby created which shall be known as the District Court area of Drumkeerin, and the Principal Order shall be construed and have effect accordingly.

(2) The District Court Area of Drumkeerin shall comprise the following district electoral divisions in the county of Leitrim—Arigna, Belhavel, Dromahair, Drumkeerin, Garvagh, Killanummery, Killarga, Mahanagh and St. Patrick's.

(3) The place in which the District Court shall be held in the District Court Area of Drumkeerin shall be Drumkeerin.

(4) The days and hours at which the District Court shall be held in the District Court Area of Drumkeerin shall be the third Tuesday in January, March, May, July, September and November at 11 a.m.

4. District Court District No. 2, mentioned at reference number 2 in both the First and Second Schedules to the District Court (Districts) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 6 of 1961 ), is hereby varied by the substitution of references to Drumkeerin for references to Dromahair in column (3).

5. The District Court Area of Dowra is hereby varied by the deletion from the district electoral divisions mentioned at paragraph (b) in column (5) at reference number 12 in both the First and Second Schedules to the Principal Order of the district electoral divisions of Arigna, Drumkeerin, Mahanagh and St. Patrick's.

6. The District Court Area of Manorhamilton is hereby varied by the addition to the district electoral divisions mentioned in column (5) at reference number 143 in the First Schedule and in column (5) at reference number 127 in the Second Schedule to the Principal Order of the district electoral divisions of Cloonlogher and Sramore.

7. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated and is not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of the Order is to appoint Drumkeerin as a place for the holding of District Court Sittings in Co. Leitrim in place of Dromahair. It also provides for a re-arrangement of certain District Court Areas in that County.
