DISABLED PERSONS (MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1965.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947), and by subsection (5) of section 50 of the Health Act, 1953 (No. 26 of 1953), hereby makes the following Regulations :—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) Regulations, 1965.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1965.

3. The Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) Regulations, 1964 ( S.I. No. 192 of 1964 ) are hereby revoked.

4. Article 4 of the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) Regulations 1963, ( S.I. No. 142 of 1963 ) is hereby amended by the deletion of subarticle (3) and the substitution therefor of the following :—

"(3) A maintenance allowance payable in accordance with this article shall be at a rate not exceeding two pounds, two shillings and sixpence per week".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of these regulations is to increase from one pound, twelve shillings and sixpence per week to two pounds two shillings and sixpence per week the maximum maintenance allowance payable to a disabled person under section 50 (5) of the Health Act, 1953 .
