S.I. No. 196/1964 - An Bord Gráin (Assignment of Additional Functions) Order, 1964.


I, PATRICK SMITH, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7 of the Agricultural Produce (Cereals) (Amendment) Act, 1958 (No. 24 of 1958), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the An Bord Grain (Assignment of Additional Functions) Order, 1964.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1964.

3. The following functions are hereby assigned to An Bord Gráin :

(a) importing and selling grain sorghums, maize and feed wheat in such quantities as may be agreed on by the Minister and the Board from time to time,

(b) purchasing and re-selling home-grown barley and home-grown feed wheat.

4. For the purpose of fulfilling the functions assigned to it by this Order An Bord Grain may arrange for the importation and sale of grain sorghums, maize and feed wheat and the purchase and re-sale of home-grown barley and home-grown feed wheat on its behalf by agents.

5. For the purpose of fulfilling the function mentioned in paragraph (b) of Article 3 of this Order An Bord Gráin may make such advances and on such terms as it thinks proper to its agents for the purpose of financing the purchase of home-grown barley and home-grown feed wheat on its behalf.

6. The An Bord Gráin (Assignment of Additional Functions) Order, 1963 ( S.I. No. 160 of 1963 ), and the An Bord Grain (Assignment ofAdditional Functions) (Amendment) Order, 1964 ( S.I. No. 108 of 1964 ), are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The Order assigns to An Bord Gráin functions in relation to the importation and sale of grain sorghums, maize and feed wheat and the purchase and re-sale of home-grown barley and feed wheat.
