EXPORTED LIVE STOCK (INSURANCE) ACT, 1940 (APPOINTED PERCENTAGE UNDER SECTION 16) ORDER, 1963.

I, PATRICK SMITH, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (2) of section 16 of the Exported Live Stock (Insurance) Act, 1940 (No. 25 of 1940), and section 7 of the Exported Live Stock (Insurance) Act, 1950 (No. 10 of 1950), and after consultation with the National Executive of the Irish Live Stock Trade, hereby order as follows:—

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Exported Live Stock (Insurance) Act, 1940 (Appointed Percentage under Section 16) Order, 1963.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on 1st day of November, 1963.

2. The appointed percentage for the purposes of section 16 of the Exported Live Stock (Insurance) Act, 1940 , is hereby appointed as follows:—

(a) for cattle, it shall be seven-twentieths of one per cent.,

(b) for sheep and pigs, it shall be eight-twentieths of one per cent.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is that as from 1st November, 1963, the levy payable to the Exported Live Stock (Insurance) Board under the Exported Live Stock (Insurance) Acts, 1940 to 1950, in respect of cattle exported to Britain shall be 7/- per £100 of the value of the animals and in respect of sheep and pigs exported to Britain shall be 8/- per £100 of the value of the animals.
