HOLIDAYS (EMPLOYEES) ACT, 1961 (SECTION 10) REGULATIONS, 1963.

I, JOHN LYNCH, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (6) of section 10 of the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1961 (No. 33 of 1961), hereby make the following regulations :

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1961 (Section 10) Regulations, 1963.

2. Section 10 of the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1961 (No. 33 of 1961), shall, in its application to non-domestic workers employed in coal mining, have effect as if—

(a) " fifteen hundred hours " were substituted for " sixteen hundred hours " in paragraph (a) of subsection (1), and

(b) " one hundred and twenty-five hours " were substituted for " one hundred and thirty-five hours " in paragraph (d) of subsection (3).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Instrument is to fix, in respect of persons employed in coal mines, lower qualifying periods of work for entitlement to annual holidays and holiday pay than those applicable to workers generally under the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1961 .
