REGISTRATION COUNCIL (CONSTITUTION AND PROCEDURE) RULES, 1962.

I, PATRICK J. HILLERY, Minister for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 1 and 3 of the Intermediate Education (Ireland) Act, 1914, as adapted, hereby make the following rules :

1. (1) These Rules may be cited as the Registration Council (Constitution and Procedure) (Amendment) Rules, 1962.

(2) The Principal Rules, the Registration Council (Constitution and Procedure) (Amendment) Rules, 1959 ( S.I. No. 197 of 1959 ), and these Rules shall be construed together and may be cited together as the Registration Council (Constitution and Procedure) Rules, 1926 to 1962.

(3) These Rules shall come into operation on the 1st day of December, 1962.

2. (1) In these Rules " the Principal Rules " means the Registration Council (Constitution and Procedure) Rules, 1926 (S.R. & O., No. 17 of 1926).

(2) The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) applies to these Rules.

3. (1) The Principal Rules, as amended by the Registration Council (Constitution and Procedure) (Amendment) Rules, 1959 ( S.I. No. 197 of 1959 ), are hereby amended by the deletion at the end of Part 1 of the Schedule, in the first and in the second column, respectively, of " The Federation of Catholic Lay Secondary Schools " and " One."

(2) Accordingly—

(a) the person who, immediately before the commencement of these Rules, was the member of the Council appointed by the Federation of Catholic Lay Secondary Schools shall, on such commencement, cease to be a member of the Council,

(b) in Rule 3 of the Principal Rules " eighteen " and " sixteen " shall be substituted for " nineteen " and " seventeen " respectively.
