OIL POLLUTION OF THE SEA (CONVENTION COUNTRIES) (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA) ORDER, 1961.

I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Transport and Power, being satisfied that the government of the United States of America has accepted the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea by Oil, 1954, hereby in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (1) of section 19 of the Oil Pollution of the Sea Act, 1956 (No. 25 of 1956), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), order as follows:—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Oil Pollution of the Sea (Convention Countries) (United States of America) Order, 1961.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 4th day of January, 1962.

2. It is hereby declared that the government of the United States of America has accepted the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea by Oil, 1954.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order declares that the international Convention for the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea by Oil, 1954, has been accepted by the United States of America.
