S.I. No. 202/1961 - Dáil Éireann General Election Order, 1961.


The Minister for Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section 18 of the Electoral Act, 1923 (No. 12 of 1923) as substituted by section 7 of the Electoral Act, 1960 (No. 43 of 1960) hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Dáil Éireann General Election Order, 1961.

2. The poll at the general election to be held as a consequence of the proclamation issued on 15th September, 1961, dissolving Dáil Éireann shall be taken in all constituencies on the 4th day of October, 1961.

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM.

This Order fixes 4th October, 1961 as the day for the holding of a general election in consequence of the dissolution of Dáil Éireann.
