IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (ALUMINIUM SHEET STRIP AND FOIL) ORDER, 1961.

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), and with the consent of the Minister for Industry and Commerce, hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (Aluminium Sheet, Strip and Foil) Order, 1961.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of July, 1961.

3. The Imposition of Duties (Aluminium Sheet, Strip and Foil) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 17 of 1959 ), shall be amended by—

(a) the substitution of " 1st day of January, 1963 " for " 1st day of July, 1961 " (inserted by the Imposition of Duties (Aluminium Sheet, Strip and Foil) (Amendment) Order, 1960 ( S.I. No. 263 of 1960 )) in paragraph 2

and

(b) the insertion after " size " in subparagraph (c) of the said paragraph of " other than pieces of circular or approximately circular shape, the greatest cross-sectional dimension of which does not exceed twenty-five inches."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of the above Order is to exempt from the Customs duty on aluminium sheet, strip and foil, material in excess of one fiftieth of an inch in thickness, other than pieces of circular or approximately circular shape the greatest cross-sectional dimension of which does not exceed twenty-five inches, which is imported before 1st January, 1963.
