FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE (IMPORTATION OF ANIMALS) ORDER, 1961 (REVOCATION) ORDER, 1961.

I, PATRICK SMITH, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Agriculture Acts, 1931 to 1958, and Section 49 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1894, hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Foot and Mouth Disease (Importation of Animals) Order, 1961 (Revocation) Order, 1961.

2. This Order shall come into operation at midnight on the 19th day of May, 1961.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

4. The Foot and Mouth Disease (Importation of Animals) Order, 1961 (No. 50 of 1961) is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order revokes the temporary controls on the importation of four-footed animals from Britain, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and the Continent of Europe, imposed as a precaution against the introduction of foot and mouth disease.
