CONTROL OF EXPORTS (NO. 2) ORDER, 1961.

I, JOHN LYNCH, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (2) of section 2 of the Control of Exports (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1956 (No. 1 of 1956), which Act is continued in force by the Control of Exports (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1956 (Continuance) Act, 1958 (No. 33 of 1958), hereby order as follows:

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Control of Exports (No. 2) Order, 1961.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 14th day of March, 1961.

2. In this Order "fertilisers" means any articles manufactured for use as fertilisers of the soil.

3. The exportation of fertilisers is hereby prohibited, save under and in accordance with a licence.

4. This Order shall not apply to the exportation of articles by parcel post or the exportation of articles as respects which the proper officer of Customs and Excise is satisfied that such articles—

(a) are travellers' samples being exported after being imported temporarily.

(b) are travellers' samples being exported temporarily to be subsequently re-imported, or

(c) are being re-exported to the country from which they were imported as a result of being refused by the consignee.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to apply control to exports to all destinations of fertilisers.
