ALLOTMENTS (UNEMPLOYED PERSONS) REGULATIONS, 1945 (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1960.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsection (2) of section 2 of the Acquisition of Land (Allotments) (Amendment) Act, 1934 (No. 7 of 1934) hereby makes the following Regulations :

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Allotments (Unemployed Persons) Regulations, 1945 (Amendment) Regulations, 1960.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) shall apply to these Regulations.

3. The Allotments (Unemployed Persons) Regulations, 1945 (S.R. and O. 1945 No. 99) shall be amended by the deletion in paragraph (c) of article 3 thereof of the words "in case he is resident in a county borough or the Borough of Dún Laoghaire sixty five pounds or in case he is resident elsewhere fifty-two pounds" and the substitution therefor of the words "ninety-eight pounds sixteen shillings".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The Allotments (Unemployed Persons) Regulations, 1945 provide in effect that certain persons are to be regarded as unemployed persons for the purposes of the Acquisition of Land (Allotments) (Amendment) Act, 1934 . Under the Regulations of 1945, a person in casual employment was regarded as unemployed where during the twelve months preceding the letting of an allotment to him his means did not exceed £65 (if he was resident in a county borough or the borough of Dún Laoghaire) or £52 (if he was resident elsewhere). The effect of these Regulations is to raise the limit as to means to £98 16s. in all cases.
