IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 87) (WOOL WADDING) ORDER, 1960.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (No. 87) (Wool Wadding) Order, 1960.

2. Section 9 of and the First Schedule to the Finance Act, 1940 (No. 14 of 1940), shall, as respects articles imported on or after the 11th day of March, 1960, have effect as if the following subparagraph were substituted for subparagraph (ii) of paragraph (a) (inserted by the Imposition of Duties (No. 47) (Cotton Wool) Order, 1958 ( S.I. No. 206 of 1958 )) in the second column of that Schedule at reference number 9, namely:

"(ii) wadding made wholly or partly of wool, cotton or man made fibres;"

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of this Order is to impose a Customs duty of 50% (full) 331/3% (pref.), ad valorem on wadding made wholly or partly of wool.
