CUSTOMS-FREE AIRPORT (EXTENSION OF LAWS) (No. 2) REGULATIONS, 1959. | ||
I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 13 of the Customs-free Airport Act, 1947 (No. 5 of 1947) (as amended by section 11 of the Customs-free Airport (Amendment) Act, 1958 (No. 29 of 1958) ) and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following regulations : 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Customs-free Airport (Extension of Laws) (No. 2) Regulations, 1959. 2. The Exchange Control (Amendment) Regulations, 1959 ( S.I. No. 140 of 1959 ), shall extend to the Customs-free airport. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
These Regulations extend to the Customs-free airport the Exchange Control (Amendment) Regulations, 1959 ( S.I. No. 140 of 1959 ). | ||
The Exchange Control (Amendment) Regulations, 1959, amend the Exchange Control Regulations, 1959, by further simplifyingthe procedure relating to payments for goods originating outside the Scheduled Territories ; by increasing from £10 to £20 the exempted amount of Sterling Area currency notes which may be exported by travellers to destinations outside Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man ; and by including Singapore in the Scheduled Territories and removing Iraq from those territories. |
