RIVER ERNE (SPECIAL LOCAL LICENCE DUTY) (METHOD OF PAYMENT) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1959.

I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Lands, in exercise of the power conferred on me by subsection (6) of section 54 of the Fisheries Act, 1939 (No. 17 of 1939), and the Fisheries (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1957 ( S.I. No. 67 of 1957 ), hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the River Erne (Special Local Licence Duty) (Method of Payment) (Amendment) Order, 1959.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1959.

2. The River Erne (Special Local Licence Duty) (Method of Payment) Order, 1938 ( S. R. & O. No. 15 of 1938 ), shall not have effect in relation to the licence duty to be paid under Article 4 of the River Erne (Special Local Licences) Order, 1934 ( S. R. & O. No. 178 of 1934 ) (inserted therein by Article 3 of the River Erne (Special Local Licences) (Amendment) Order, 1959) in respect of any special local licence to use a draft net in the tidal waters of the River Erne or any special local licence to fish for salmon with a single rod and line in the said tidal waters.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order suspends the operation of the Order of 1938, which enabled payment of special local licence duty to be made by instalments. The effect is that so long as the amendment Order remains in force the full amount of licence duty is payable on application for a special local licence in respect of the tidal waters of the River Erne.
