IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (WOVEN FABRICS) ORDER, 1958.

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), and with the consent of the Minister for Industry and Commerce, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (Woven Fabrics) Order, 1958.

2. The duty of customs imposed by the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 340) (Woven Artificial Textile and Union Fabrics) Order, 1954 ( S.I. No. 228 of 1954 ), shall not be charged or levied on any of the following articles imported on or after the 15th day of July, 1958, namely :

(a) fabric made wholly of wool, silk, glass, straw, rush, grass or paper,

(b) dyed or bleached jute piece goods which do not exceed four and one-half ounces in weight per square yard,

(c) piece goods containing more than sixty per cent. by weight of linen and not chargeable with the duty imposed by the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 242) Order, 1949 ( S.I. No. 194 of 1949 ).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order exempts from duty the fabrics mentioned at Paragraph 2.
