INFECTIOUS DISEASES (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1958.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsection (4) of section 31 of the Health Act, 1947 , hereby makes the following Regulations :—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Infectious Diseases (Amendment) Regulations, 1958.

2. Where arrangements are made by a health authority under paragraph (b) of sub-article (1) of article 23 of the Infectious Diseases Regulations, 1948 ( S.I. No. 99 of 1948 ) for the administration of vaccine against acute anterior poliomyelitis to persons other than persons specified in subsection (2) of section 14 of the Health Act, 1953 (No. 26 of 1953), the health authority, if the Minister for Health so directs, shall charge for such service the charge approved of or directed by that Minister.

3. A charge under article 2 of these Regulations may, in default of payment, be recovered as if it were a charge recoverable under section 31 of the Health Act, 1953 .

4. A health authority may require a person making an application for vaccination against acute anterior poliomyelitis to give to the health authority such information as may be required by the health authority.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These regulations empower health authorities to make such charges as may be fixed by the Minister for poliomyelitis vaccination made available for persons other than those holding medical cards issued by the health authority.
