HEALTH OFFICES (RECLASSIFICATION) ORDER, 1958.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 8 of the Local Government Act, 1955 (No. 9 of 1955), and subsection (5) of section 10 of the Local Government Act, 1941 (No. 23 of 1941), added thereto by section 12 of the Local Government Act, 1955 , hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Health Offices (Reclassification) Order, 1958.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1958.

3. The Minister for Health hereby gives his general approval to the abolition of each of the offices specified in the Schedule hereto in relation to which the said Minister is the appropriate Minister for the purpose of Part II of the Local Government Act, 1941 (No. 23 of 1941), Part III of Local Government Act, 1946 (No. 24 of 1946), and Chapter I of Part II of the Local Government Act, 1955 (No. 9 of 1955) and which is for the time being vacant.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to facilitate recruitment to, and employment in, certain posts in the local authority service on an ordinary contract of service basis, without regard to the body of law regarding officers, which is not appropriate in regard to these posts. Persons employed at present in such posts are not affected by the Order.
