S.I. No. 263 of 1957.

RETURNS OF BURIALS (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1957.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 191 of the Public Health (Ireland) Act, 1878, hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Returns of Burials (Amendment) Order, 1957.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order in the same manner as it applies to an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The sum directed to be paid under the Returns of Burials Order, dated 5th March, 1886, made by the Local Government Board for Ireland is hereby altered to sixpence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The Order of 5th March, 1886, provided that a sum of threepence should be paid by the sanitary authority in respect of each entry in weekly returns of burials furnished to registrars of births and deaths by the clerk, secretary or registrar of each cemetery company having charge of burial grounds in what are now the Dublin and Rathdown Public Assistance Districts. The amending order increases this fee to sixpence.
