S.I. No. 241/1957 - Coras Iompair Eireann (Broadstone Branch of the Royal Canal) Order, 1957.


WHEREAS Córas Iompair Eireann applied on the 6th day of August, 1957 to the Transport Tribunal for an Order pursuant to Section 56 of the Transport Act, 1950 (No. 12 of 1950) in respect of that part of the Broadstone Branch of the Royal Canal specified in the Schedule hereto which has not been used for public navigation for thirty years past :

AND WHEREAS notice of said application was duly published in the manner and at the times directed by the said Tribunal :

AND WHEREAS no objection by any interested party to the making of the Order applied for was received by the said Tribunal :

NOW, WE, THE TRANSPORT TRIBUNAL, in exercise of the powers conferred on us by Section 56 of the Transport Act, 1950 (No. 12 of 1950), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Córas Iompair Eireann (Broadstone Branch of the Royal Canal) Order, 1957.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 10th day of December, 1957.

3. Córas Iompair Eireann is hereby released from the obligation to keep open for navigation the part of the Broadstone Branch of the Royal Canal specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

That part of the Broadstone Branch of the Royal Canal extending from a line across the canal some 258½ feet or thereabouts to the North of Blackquire Bridge to the junction of the Broadstone Branch with the main canal, as shown coloured green on a map deposited with the Transport Tribunal.
