SWINE FEVER (RESTRICTION OF MOVEMENT OF PIGS) ORDER, 1957 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1957.

I, SEÁN MOYLAN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Agriculture Acts, 1931 to 1955, and the Diseases of Animals Acts, 1894 to 1954, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Swine Fever (Restriction of Movement of Pigs) Order, 1957 (Amendment) Order, 1957.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 12th day of August, 1957.

3. The Swine Fever (Restriction of Movement of Pigs) Order, 1957 ( S.I. No. 128 of 1957 ), is hereby amended by—

(i) the insertion in Article 5 after subparagraph (a) of the following subparagraph :

" (aa) the movement of young pigs under and in accordance with a transit permit from a place where pigs are bred to a place where pigs are fattened," and

(ii) the insertion in paragraph (4) of Article 6 after subparagraph (a) of the following subparagraph :

" (aa) in case the movement was to a place where pigs are fattened, to the nearest Garda Síochána barracks,".

Explanatory Note.

The effect of the Order is to permit, on and from 12th August, 1957, the movement of young pigs under transit permit from breeders' premises to other premises for fattening.
