AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS (RESTRICTION OF EXPORT) ORDER, 1956 (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1957.

I, WILLIAM NORTON, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by virtue of section 2 of the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947), and the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (Transfer of Powers) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 52 of 1956 ), hereby order as follows :

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1956 (Amendment) (No. 2) Order, 1957.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 23rd day of January, 1957.

2. The Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 56 of 1956 ), is hereby amended by :

(a) the deletion of paragraph 3 and the substitution therefor of the following paragraph :

" 3. This Order shall not apply to the exportation by parcel post of sugar, molasses, sugar syrups or any commodity (excluding condensed milk) made from sugar or to which sugar has been added in the course of preparation.", and

(b) the deletion in Part I of the Schedule thereto of " Sweets and chocolates and chocolate coverture " and the substitution therefor of " Sugar syrups and all commodities (excluding condensed milk) made from sugar or to which sugar has been added in the course of preparation." and the deletion in the said Part I of " sugar or other sweetening matter " and the substitution therefor of " sweetening matter other than sugar ".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to extend the existing controls on the export of sugar, molasses, sweets, chocolates and chocolate coverture, to all goods containing sugar, other than condensed milk and exports by parcel post.
