CORK TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT) BYE-LAWS, 1956.

WHEREAS the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána has, before making the bye-laws hereinafter set forth, consulted the Lord Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Cork in regard thereto :

NOW, I, DANIEL COSTIGAN, Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (1) of section 149 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 (No. 11 of 1933), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Local Government, testified by his official seal affixed hereto, make the following bye-laws in respect of the County Borough of Cork, that is to say :—

1.—(1) These bye-laws may be cited as the Cork Traffic (Amendment) Bye-Laws, 1956.

(2) The Cork Traffic Bye-Laws, 1939 and 1949, and these bye-laws may be cited together as the Cork Traffic Bye-Laws, 1939 to 1956.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these bye-laws.

3. The Third Schedule to the Cork Traffic Bye-Laws, 1939 ( S. R. & O. No. 134 of 1939 ), is hereby amended by the addition thereto, in the first, second and third columns, of the matter contained in the first, second and third column, respectively, of the Schedule to these bye-laws.

WHEREAS in pursuance of section 8 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 , the Commissioner has submitted the foregoing bye-laws to the Minister for Local Government : AND WHEREAS the provisions of sub-sections (1) and (5) of the said section 8 have been complied with in relation to the said bye-laws : NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Local Government, in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 149 of the said Act, hereby consents to the making of the said bye-laws.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These bye-laws amend the Cork Traffic Bye-Laws, 1939 and 1949. They provide that Morgan Street and Robert Street shall be one-way streets from north to south at all times.
