HARBOUR RATES (WESTPORT HARBOUR) ORDER, 1956.

I, WILLIAM NORTON, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 104 of the Harbours Act, 1946 (No. 9 of 1946), and after due compliance with section 106 of the said Act, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Harbour Rates (Westport Harbour) Order, 1956.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 14th day of December, 1956.

3. The Westport Port and Harbour Act, 1853, is hereby amended by the deletion of Schedule C (which relates to tonnage rates) and the substitution of the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

Every vessel using the port and harbour of Westport shall pay as harbour dues the following rates :

(i) On every ton of the net register tonnage or of half the gross tonnage whichever is the greater of every vessel discharging or loading cargo or passengers in the port or harbour, from or to any port or place in the State, Northern Ireland or Great Britain.........(not exceeding

1s. 0d. per ton)

(ii) on every ton of the net register tonnage or of half the gross tonnage whichever is the greater of every vessel discharging or loading cargo or passengers in the port or harbour, for each voyage made to or from the port or harbour, from any port or place not in the State, Northern Ireland or Great Britain..........(not exceeding

1s. 6d. per ton)

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Under the above Order the Westport Harbour Commissioners may from the 14th day of December, 1956, charge increased tonnage rates not exceeding the rates specified in the Schedule to the Order.
