DISTRICT COURT (NEW AREAS) ORDER, 1927 (VARIATION No. 168) ORDER, 1956.

I, JAMES EVERETT, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (3) of section 47 of the Court Officers Act, 1926 (No. 27 of 1926), and by section 11 of the Court Officers Act, 1945 (No. 25 of 1945), hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the District Court (New Areas) Order, 1927 (Variation No. 168) Order, 1956.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1956.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3.—(1) For the purpose of cases of civil jurisdiction there are hereby created in District No. 7 new district court areas, to be known by the names of the places specified in the first column of the First Schedule hereto, each of which shall consist of the district electoral divisions specified in the second column of that Schedule.

(2) The district court areas mentioned in the third column of the First Schedule hereto are, accordingly, varied by the removal therefrom of the district electoral divisions specified in the second column of that Schedule.

(3) The District Court for the district court areas created by this Article shall be held at the places and times indicated in the first column of the First Schedule hereto.

(4) Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated before the date on which this Order comes into operation and is not completed before that date shall be continued and completed in like manner as if the preceding provisions had not been made.

(5) For the purposes of this Article, business transacted in the District Court shall be regarded as being initiated on the day on which the summons, warrant, process or other originating document relating to it is issued.

4.—(1) For the purpose of cases of civil jurisdiction the days and times for holding the District Court in the district court areas mentioned in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby varied by the substitution of the days and times indicated in that Schedule for those appointed heretofore.

(2) For the purpose of cases of summary jurisdiction the days and times for holding the District Court in the district court areasmentioned in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby varied by the substitution of the days and times indicated in that Schedule for those appointed heretofore.

(3) Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated before the date on which this Order comes into operation and is not completed before that date shall be continued and completed at the place and on the days and at the times mentioned in the Second or Third Schedule hereto, as the case may be.
