DANGEROUS MACHINES (TRAINING AND SUPERVISION OF PERSONS) REGULATIONS, 1956.

I, WILLIAM NORTON, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the power conferred on me by subsection (2) of section 32 of the Factories Act, 1955 (No. 10 of 1955), and being of the opinion that certain machines are of such a dangerous character that persons ought not to work at them unless the requirements of subsection (1) of the said section 32 are complied with, hereby make the following regulations :

1.—(1) These regulations may be cited as the Dangerous Machines (Training and Supervision of Persons) Regulations, 1956.

(2) These regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1956.

2. The machines specified in the Schedule to these regulations shall be machines to which subsection (1) of section 32 of the Factories Act, 1955 (No. 10 of 1955), applies and a person shall not work at any such machine unless the requirements of the said subsection (1) are complied with.

SCHEDULE.

Power presses.

Milling Machines in use in metal trades.

Guillotine machines.

Brick and tile presses driven by mechanical power.

Dough mixers and dough brakes.

Meat mincing machines driven by mechanical power.

Hydro-extractors in use in laundries.

Printing Machines.

Carding machines in use in upholstery works.
