HIRING, HIRE-PURCHASE AND CREDIT SALE ORDER, 1956 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1956. | ||
I, WILLIAM NORTON, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942), (which Orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946)), hereby order as follows : 1. This Order may be cited as the Hiring, Hire-Purchase and Credit Sale Order, 1956 (Amendment) Order, 1956. 2. This Order shall be construed as one with the Hiring, Hire-Purchase and Credit Sale Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 46 of 1956 .) 3. The minimum deposit provided for by paragraphs (1) and (2) of Article 4 of, and the First Schedule to, the Hiring, Hire-Purchase and Credit Sale Order, 1956, is hereby reduced— | ||
(a) in the case of personal clothing, from 50 per cent. to 25 per cent., except in the case of a single article, suit, costume or set of clothing the cash price of which is twenty pounds or more, and | ||
(b) in the case of perambulators, baby carriages and similar articles, from 20 per cent. to 10 per cent. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE | ||
This Order amends the Hiring, Hire-Purchase and Credit Sale Order, 1956 by reducing the minimum deposit in respect of perambulators from 20% to 10% of the cash price and in respect of personal clothing from 50% to 25% of the cash price, except in the case of a single article, suit, costume or set of clothing the cash price of which is £20 or more. |
