RABBITS (CONTROL) ORDER, 1956.

I, JAMES M. DILLON, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which Orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946) ), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Rabbits (Control) Order, 1956.

2. A person shall not, on or after the 1st day of March, 1956, release any rabbit from captivity or confinement.

3. A person shall not, on or after the 1st day of March, 1956—

(a) keep, or have in his possession or under his control any live wild rabbit,

(b) dispose of any such rabbit by way of sale or gift or in any other manner whatsoever, or

(c) acquire any such rabbit by way of purchase or gift or in any other manner whatsoever,

save under and in accordance with a licence issued to him under this Order.

4.—(1) The Minister for Agriculture may, at his discretion, issue licences for the purposes of this Order and attach conditions to the licences.

(2) Where conditions are attached to any such licence, the licensee shall comply with the conditions.
