DANGEROUS DRUGS (FEES) REGULATIONS, 1954.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1934 (No. 1 of 1934), hereby makes the following regulations :—

1. These regulations may be cited as the Dangerous Drugs (Fees) Regulations, 1954.

2. The regulations made by the Minister for Justice on the 9th June, 1937, fixing fees for licences and permits under the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1934 , are hereby revoked.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) applies to the interpretation of these regulations as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

4. The fees set out in the Schedule to these regulations shall be the fees chargeable for licences and permits under the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1934 .

5. The Minister for Health may, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, remit the fee or direct that a lower fee shall be charged in any particular case or classes of case where, in his opinion, the circumstances justify it.

6. These regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1954.

SCHEDULE.

(1) For a licence to manufacture—

(a) the drugs specified in paragraphs (c), (d), (g) and (h) of subsection (1) of Section 17 of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1934 , or any drug to which Part IV of the Act applies by virtue of an Order under Section 17 (2) thereof—

in respect of each drug

£15 per annum.

(b) Medicinal Opium

£7 10s. per annum.

(c) Methylmorphine or Ethylmorphine or their respective salts or any drug specified in any Order made under Section 25 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1934

in respect of each drug

£4 10s. per annum.

(2) For a general licence to supply or procure any drug (other than Methylmorphine or Ethylmorphine or their respective salts or any drug specified in any Order made under Section 25 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1934 )—

(a) in respect of one drug only

£7 10s. per annum.

(b) in respect of each additional drug after the first

£3 per annum.

(3) For a licence to supply or to be in possession of Methylmorphine or Ethylmorphine or their respective salts or any drug specified in any Order made under Section 25 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1934

in respect of each drug £1 10s per annum

£1 10s per annum

(4) For a licence to be in possession of any drug (other than Methylmorphine or Ethylmorphine or their respective salts or any drug specified in any Order made under Section 25 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1934 )—

(a) in respect of one drug only

£3 per annum.

(b) in respect of each additional drug after the first

£1 10s. per annum.

(5) For a special licence to manufacture, supply or procure

£3 for each licence.

(6) for an import permit

£1 for each permit.

(7) For an export permit

£1 for each permit.

(8) For a licence to divert in transit

£1 for each licence.

(9) For a certified copy of a licence or permit

£1 for each copy.

(10) For a new licence or permit to replace a lost licence or permit

£1 for each licence or permit.

(11) For a change in the name of the licensee or the transfer of a licence to another address

£1 for each licence.

(12) For the transfer of a licence to a liquidator, trustee, executor or administrator

£1 for each licence.

(13) For each address after the first address at which a licence is made available, an addition of 50% to the fee payable for the licence.

(14) For extension of time specified on a permit

10/- for each extension.
