INSURANCE (INTERMITTENT UNEMPLOYMENT) ACT, 1942 (AMENDMENT OF RATES OF WEEKLY CONTRIBUTIONS) REGULATIONS, 1953.

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the joint operation of the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (No. 7 of 1942), the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952), and the Social Welfare (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) (No. 1) Order, 1947 ( S. R. & O. No. 18 of 1947 ), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, and with the concurrence of the Minister for Finance, hereby makes the following regulations :—

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (Amendment of Rates of Weekly Contributions) Regulations, 1953.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 6th day of July, 1953.

2. The Second Schedule to the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (No. 7 of 1942), as amended by the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (Amendment of Rates of Weekly Contributions) Regulations, 1945 ( S. R. & O. No. 163 of 1945 ), is hereby amended—

(a) by substituting a weekly rate of contribution of 8d. for each such rate of 4d., and

(b) by substituting a weekly rate of contribution of 6d. for each such rate of 3d., and

(c) by substituting a weekly rate of contribution of 2d. for each such rate of 1d.
