BIRTHS, DEATHS AND MARRIAGES (FEES FOR CERTIFICATES) REGULATIONS, 1953.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsection (3) of section 9 of the Vital Statistics and Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act, 1952 (No. 8 of 1952), with the consent of the Minister for Finance and the Minister for Social Welfare, hereby makes the following Regulations :—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees for Certificates) Regulations, 1953.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 16th day of February, 1953.

3. The amount of the fee for a certificate of birth, death or marriage fixed by any of the enactments to which these Regulations apply is hereby altered to the following amount:—

(a) for each certified copy of an entry in a register of births, one shilling;

(b) for each certified copy of an entry in a register of deaths, one shilling and sixpence;

(c) for each certified copy of an entry in a register of marriages, one shilling and sixpence.

4. The enactments to which these Regulations apply are:—

(a) section 31 of the Unemployment Assistance Act, 1933 (No. 46 of 1933);

(b) section 59 of the Widows and Orphans Pension Act, 1935 (No. 29 of 1935);

(c) section 54 of the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (No. 7 of 1942);

(d) section 13 of the Children's Allowances Act, 1944 (No. 2 of 1944);

(e) section 8 of the Social Welfare Act, 1948 (No. 17 of 1948).
