CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA No. 10) ORDER, 1934 (ROAD VEHICLE BODIES) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1952.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 10) Order, 1934 (Road Vehicle Bodies) (Amendment) Order, 1952.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. This Order shall come into operation on the 27th day of May, 1952.

4. Subparagraph (1) of paragraph 3 of the Control of Imports (Quota No. 10) Order, 1934 (S. R. & O., No. 289 of 1934), is hereby amended—

(a) by the insertion in the definition of the expression " motor car ", immediately after the words " mechanically propelled vehicle ", of the words " which is primarily designed for use on a public road and " ; and

(b) by the substitution for the definition of the word " body " of the following—

" the word ' body ' (whether used alone or in the expression ' body shell ') means a motor car body which is completely or substantially assembled and is primarily constructed or adapted for the carriage of goods (including burthen) or persons or both such goods and persons but does not include a body which is designed and constructed for the carriage of more than fifteen persons (whether with or without goods) exclusive of the driver."
