SUGAR ORDER, 1949 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1952.

I, PROINSIAS MAC AOGÁIN, Acting Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O., No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O., No. 166 of 1942) (which Orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946)), hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Sugar Order, 1949 (Amendment) Order, 1952.

2. The fifth ration period appointed by the Sugar Order, 1949 (Fifth Ration Period) Order, 1951 ( S. I. No. 291 of 1951 ), is hereby extended to the 4th day of July, 1952.

3. The Coupon in page 25 of a general ration book issued under the Emergency Powers (General Rationing Provisions) Order, 1944 (S. R. & O., No. 130 of 1944), and marked with the letter and number " L. 26 " shall continue to be a valid sugar coupon for the week commencing on the 24th day of May, 1952, and each of the five subsequent weeks.

4. A sugar permit which authorises the purchase of a specific quantity of sugar in successive months including the month of June, 1952, shall cease to be valid after the 30th day of June, 1952.

5.—(1) Subparagraph (a) of paragraph (1) of Article 12 of the Sugar Order, 1949 ( S. I. No. 83 of 1949 ), is hereby revoked.

(2) This Article shall come into operation on the 24th day of May, 1952.
